Marketplace seller onboarding: A responsible launch checklist

Prepare the documentation, product data and operational processes needed before opening seller channels.

Verify eligibility first

Review each marketplace’s current geographic, business and product eligibility rules. Never create a seller identity that misrepresents business registration, beneficial ownership or warehouse locations.

Prepare your catalog

Build a source spreadsheet of SKUs, GTINs when required, product categories, materials, measurements, images, variations, pricing and available stock. Product data quality helps prevent publication errors and returns.

Define fulfillment ownership

Confirm whether each channel uses platform fulfillment or merchant fulfillment. Establish shipment cutoff times, delivery expectations, tracking upload procedures and returns responsibilities before listings go live.

Set up secure agency access

The seller should control its marketplace account and supply approved delegated permissions where available. Track who can change pricing, advertise, issue refunds or respond to customer messages.

Watch operations after approval

Review account-health notifications, listing errors, inventory discrepancies and customer-service response requirements through the marketplace’s approved tools.

EcomPartner 365 is an independent service agency. Review current platform rules directly before making eligibility or policy decisions.
